Rock Hill, S.C. – The Big South Conference announced its annual women's soccer awards Friday afternoon as Winthrop came away with three honorees.

Junior midfielder Monssi Avila-Gutierrez was voted to the All-Big South First Team while Lindsay Sheets was voted to the All-Freshman Team and Reagan Goodwyn named to the All-Academic Team.
Avila-Gutierrez becomes the first Eagle to make first team since Natalie Royaards and current assistant coach Dylan (Patterson) Hill did so in 2019. She led the team in scoring with 10 points (5 goals) and is currently 10^th in the Big South for total points. Avila-Gutierrez is tied for 7^th in total goals and 8^th in goals per game. She started all 16 matches this season and logged the third most minutes on the team. Her five goals were a career-high for a single-season at Winthrop and now has 11 in her career to go along with three assists (25 points).

Sheets is a two-time Big South Freshman of the Week selection this season as she finished tied for second on the team in scoring with seven points. Sheets started eight of the 16 games she appeared. She netted her first collegiate goal on Sept. 11 at Mercer. On Oct. 18 she had two assists to help lead the Eagles over regular season champion Radford.

Goodwyn was named to the All-Academic Team as she will graduate early with a degree in business administration with a focus in accounting. She has been a three-year starter for the Eagles and this year started in all 16 games, playing the second-most minutes on the team. She played a key role in the Eagle back line that allowed just 22 goals on the season, the fourth fewest in program history. The Eagles also recorded six shutouts, which are the 4^th most in program history.
