Game Recap
- Hokies created the first shot of the match, but the Eagles had the first good scoring opportunity in the 9th minute as Jayco Castro's shot on frame was cleared by a Virginia Tech player near the goal line to keep it scoreless
- Charles Barnes was forced to make two saves in a 13 second span in the 12th minute but stood tall
- Hokies broke through in the 34th minute off a corner as Ian Marcano's service found Andy Sullins who headed it home for the goal
- Virginia Tech grabbed a two-goal lead in the 51st minute as Dagur Traustason received a pass from Declan Quill and slotted home a shot into the lower left corner from just outside the top of the six

- Freshman Charles Barnes finished with nine saves as the Hokies had a 28-4 advantage in shots with an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal
