Game Recap
Set 1
- Winthrop took the first point on a Presbyterian service error, but the Blue Hose quickly pulled even and led 3–2 after the opening exchanges. Both teams traded until kills from Rachel McCollum and Avery Jolley kept the Eagles level at 10-10.
- With the frame tied at 12, Winthrop broke loose on a four-point burst. Laila Glover started it with a kill, followed by a Presbyterian attack error, a team ace on Alyah Cadavid's serve, and a Paige Bennett finish to make it 17-12.
- Presbyterian trimmed the deficit with a brief run of its own before McCollum and Jolley answered late to restore control.
- After an Ashley Miller kill and an Amaris Alvarez ace pulled PC within 24-20, Alvarez sent her next serve long to end it.
Set 2
- Presbyterian opened 4-1 after a Winthrop attack error and a service ace, but the Eagles immediately steadied. Giselle Little struck from the middle, and consecutive kills from Jolley swung the score back even.
- The Eagles seized momentum with five straight points, capped by a block from McCollum and Little that pushed the lead to 5-1. Winthrop stayed in front behind steady swings from Little and Teagan Sychterz, while Bennett's serving stretched the cushion to 18-13.
- The Blue Hose fought back to 22-20 before another Bennett kill created separation.
- A Presbyterian service error on set point ended the comeback bid.
Set 3
- Presbyterian jumped out 4-1 on early kills from Courtney Williams, but Winthrop answered with a Giselle Little kill and a Torain ace to tie it. The teams traded side-outs through the midpoint, staying deadlocked at 16-16.
- The Eagles then ripped off five straight points to seize control, highlighted by a Sychterz kill and consecutive blocks from Sychterz and Laila Glover that turned a tie into a 20-16 lead.
- Winthrop kept the pressure on as Sychterz scored again from McCollum, and back-to-back Presbyterian attacks were stuffed at the net by the same duo.
- The Eagles finished the sweep on consecutive blocks, taking the frame 25-17 and the match 3-0.
