Game Recap
- Cougars had some momentum in the early minutes, earning a corner in the third minute that led to three consecutive corners but the Eagle defense stood tall
- In the 19th minute, the Cougars grabbed the lead as Ryan Watson's service into the box was headed home by Lennon Gill
- Eagles trailed 1-0 at the half, but started to shift the momentum in their favor in the second half
- In the 69th minute the Eagles got the ball wide as Takumi Sato crossed the ball to the back post and Jayco Castro found the back of the net with a header to equalize
- In the 79th minute, Sato tried to give the Eagles the lead as he ripped a shot to the lower left corner that was saved by Jourdan Schumacher as the shot had a lot of steam making the save unclean but he pounced on the short rebound
- In the 86th minute Diomario Adamson let a shot fly from outside the box that was tipped over the bar for a corner by Schumacher
Notables
- College of Charleston had a 12-6 advantage in total shots and 6-3 in shots on goal
- Winthrop freshman Charles Barnes, who subbed into the match in the 23rd minute finished with five saves
- The two teams combined for 13 corners as the Cougars had seven and the Eagles earned six
- In their last four contests the Eagles are 1-1-2
