CHAMPIONSHIP ANNIVERSARY
The 2025 season marks the 10th anniversary of the 2015 Big South Conference Championship team. In the final year with Rich Posipanko as head coach, the Eagles overcame a 1-4 start to win 10 of its next 12 games on their way to a Big South title. After falling to USC Upstate 5-4, the Eagles bounced back to defeat Appalachian State 2-0 which was the start of a seven-game winning streak. Of the seven straight wins, four of those came in overtime and three of them in double-overtime. The Eagles clinched the Big South regular season title in the final game of the regular season, a 1-0 victory at Longwood. Eagles rolled through the first two rounds of the tournament with a 3-0 win over UNC Asheville and 4-0 win over Campbell. In the Big South title game, the match went to penalties with the Eagles outlasting High Point 3-1.
