  • Chase Vazquez gave the Hokies the lead in the 37th minute as he dribbled in the box trying, twice trying to open space away from an Eagle defender and then fired a shot that took a bit of deflection off the defender and into the lower right corner
  • Pablo Ortega nearly equalized in the 43rd minute as he chased down a bouncing ball in the box and flicked it over a defender
  • Ortega collected the ball, it bounced off a Hokie defender and then back to Ortega who's shot from just outside the edge of the six was just wide left of the post

  • Alfie Humphrey had a good look at getting the Eagles in front in the 69th minute as a ball served into the box was flicked backwards by Jelaca and found the foot of Humphrey but his shot from inside the box just missed the left side of the frame
  • Moments later the Hokies had their turn as Mehdi Kettani tried to fire a loose ball on goal but his shot was a little slow and Yannis Kugel was able to dive and catch the ball as other Hokie players were closing in
