ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Winthrop University baseball gets ready for its second fall ball with head coach Mike McGuire at the helm, welcoming in Team Ontario on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Queens on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for the first two of three fall contests.
Each matchup will feature a full nine-inning game from the friendly confines of Founders Field, with admission free and open to the public. The Eagles return a veteran core mixed with a promising group of newcomers, giving fans an early look at how the roster is shaping ahead of the 2026 campaign.
Winthrop got the best of Queens the last time the two squads met, trouncing the Royals 25-0 in a 7-inning contest. Despite sitting less than 30 minutes apart, the two schools have only faced each other a total of four times in their history.
