ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop head men's soccer coach Daniel Ridenhour announced the promotion Zane Barnes to Associate Head Coach.

Barnes just completed his third season with the Eagles after spending time at Northeast Texas Junior College prior to his arrival in February 2022.

"Thankful for the opportunity and excited to be part of the direction the department is going under our leadership inside the department," said Barnes. "We are excited to be here in Rock Hill and looking forward to a positive spring and fall season."

"Well-earned and deserved for Zane to be named the Associate Head Coach," said Ridenhour, "He has taken on an added workload with the program and already directs our recruiting efforts. With his prior head coaching experience, this was a natural move. I appreciate the administration, Chuck Rey, Tommy Henry, and Halle James for working behind the scenes to help facilitate this promotion."
