Charlotte, N.C. – The Winthrop women's lacrosse program has been picked to finish seventh in the Big South in the 2025 season, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Defending champion Mercer is predicted to win the 2025 Big South title, earning seven first-place votes while High Point is projected to finish second with two first-place votes. Furman came in third in the poll followed by Wofford in fourth. They are followed by Radford, Longwood, Winthrop, Presbyterian, and Gardner-Webb.
The 2025 Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship tournament is slated for Apr. 29 at higher seeds for the first round and May 2-4 at the No. 1 seed for the semifinals and finals. The top six teams in the final Big South standings will qualify for the conference tournament, and the champion receives the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
