Rock Hill, S.C. – The Winthrop men's basketball program's entire 2024-25 schedule is now available following the release of the Big South Conference slate, Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles open the season on Nov. 4 against Piedmont and will remain at home for the next matchup against Little Rock on Nov. 9. The contest against the Trojans will mark the annual homecoming game and will feature free rope hats for the first 250 fans courtesy of Atrium Health.

The non-conference slate is highlighted with four Power 4 matchups with the first being a road contest against Virginia Tech on Nov. 11. On the Nov. 22 the Eagles travel to Louisville which will mark the first head-to-head matchup for the two schools. It will also mark a matchup against former Winthrop head coach, Pat Kelsey (2012-2021) who is in his first season with the Cardinals.

The Eagles will also face Atlantic Coast Conference foe, Florida State on Dec. 17 in Tallahassee, Fla. The last of the Power 4 contests will take place on Dec. 29 where the Eagles will face Indiana in historic Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind. and will be the first meeting in school history for both teams.

From November 17-19, the Eagles will take part in the Rock Hill Classic which features William & Mary, Georgia Southern, and North Carolina Central. Games will be held at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center.
Following the holiday break, the Eagles jump right in to their 16-game Big South Conference schedule on Jan. 2 at home versus USC Upstate and turn around quickly for a road contest at Radford Jan. 4.

Winthrop's Saturday home games include Longwood (Jan. 11), Gardner-Webb (Feb. 1), High Point (Feb. 15) and UNC Asheville (Mar. 1). In addition to USC Upstate, the Eagles will also host Charleston Southern (Jan. 15), Presbyterian College (Jan. 29), and Radford (Feb. 12).

The 2025 Big South Tournament will be held March 5-9 at the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn.
