Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop women's soccer forward Cameron Celce has been named the Big South Conference Co-Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Celce netted her first career goal in the 80^th minute to secure a 2-0 win over VMI. After entering in the 71^st minute, she quickly added an unassisted insurance goal with her only shot of the match to put the Eagles up by a pair.

The goal came off a corner kick as the ball bounced around and Celce headed it into the open net.

It is the first weekly league honor for Celce and it's the first Freshman of the Week honor since teammate Sophia Balliet earned it Sept. 25, 2023. Celce shared the weekly honor with Longwood's Sara Kate George.
