- Eagles first test S.C. State keeper Jada Gittings in the 16th minute as Cordelia McIntosh's shot on frame was saved
- Sophia Balliet had a chance in the 21st minute as Gittings was there for the save
- Abbie McCrea tried to get a late goal for the lead at the half with a shot in the 42nd minute but Gittings made another save
- Eagles started to get some pressure offensively in the 61st minute as McIntosh just missed a shot wide and then the Eagles earned a corner in the 64th minute
- Following the corner by McIntosh, the Eagles were rewarded a penalty kick
- Junior Lauren Kelly stepped in and buried her first collegiate goal, which proved to be the game-winner
Notables
- This was the Eagles 11th straight victory over the Bulldogs
- Mia Vrataric recorded three saves to earn her second straight shutout
- Eagles have recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time since the 2019 season
