Game Recap
- Each team had some opportunities early on but it was South Carolina that broke through first
- After a barrage of back-to-back shots turned away by Jack Kilstrom, Harrison Myring pushed one past into the net for the lead in the 20th minute
- The Gamecocks quickly doubled their advantage with a goal by Alejandro Velazquez-Lopez
- The Eagles started to get some offense going beginning with a shot over the top of the bar by Diomario Adamons
- In the 28th minute the Eagles had back-to-back shots from Ricardo Ferreira and Sodai Koketsu followed by a corner but were unable to take advantage
- Moments after that the Eagles center back Diego Candia was issued a red card
- Playing up a man, the Gamecocks added two more goals before the break
- The fourth one came a minute after Ferreira's effort most the top right corner
- Eagles got on the board in the 66th minute as Sodai Koketsu found the back of the net, set up by Ian Zahara and Rodrigo Ferreira
Looking Ahead
The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. as they welcome Furman to Eagle Field for the home opener.
