HOW IT HAPPENED
- High Point jumped out to an 8-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Winthrop's lone goal during the period was from Scarlet Cifarelli at the 4:35 mark to make the score 7-1.
- The Eagles fought the Panthers to even terms in the second quarter, with each team notching four goals.
- Cifarelli scored two more goals in the period.
- Her second of the frame came with 2:05 left until the half and made the score 12-5, which would be the margin at the break.
- The Panthers outscored the Eagles 6-1 in the third quarter.
- Ellie Dutton tacked on the only goal of the period for the Eagles at the 12:09 mark, making the score 13-6.
- Winthrop would conclude the game strong, outscoring the visitors 4-2 in the final 15 minutes of the contest.
- Claire Witmer scored twice in the fourth quarter, the last coming with a minute to play.
