Rock Hill, N.C. – After last night's contest at Davidson was canceled due to inclement weather, Winthrop returned to the friendly confines of The Winthrop Ballpark and combined to use seven pitchers in a 5-0 shutout in a re-match with The Citadel on Wednesday afternoon. With the victory, Winthrop moves to 13-17-1 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The only runs of the game occurred in the bottom of the first inning for Winthrop.
- This was all the Eagles needed for the victory.
- Badillo doubled to right center field to score two runs.
- Griffith singled to center field and drove in two more runs.
- In his first career start, Ryan Yaroshuk ended the barrage with a double down the left field line that brought in Griffith.
- Winthrop would threaten again in the second and the seventh but failed to score.
- The only time the Bulldogs had a chance to get on the scoreboard and end the shutout bid was in the eighth.
- With a guy on third with two outs, a foul out ended the inning.
- Hylinski would get the win, his first on both the season and his career.
