HOW IT HAPPENED

• Winthrop struck quickly with two runs in the first inning on Nicholas Badillo's RBI single and Cole Griffith's groundout, bringing home Badillo.
• The Eagles would not score again for four straight innings.
• Riley Huge mowed down the first 12 batters he faced before giving up his first hit with one out in the fifth inning.
• He then retired the next two batters after that.
• Jaylen Hernandez doubled down the left field line to make the score 3-0 in the sixth inning.
• Huge continued his impressive outing, setting down Toledo in order in the sixth and after running into a little bit of trouble in the seventh, a fly out to centerfield ended the threat and his day on the mound.
• Huge pitched seven innings, giving up just one hit and striking out 13 batters.
