Eagles Fall To PC Saturday Night

Rock Hill, SC. – Winthrop wrapped up the regular season with a 5-2 loss to Presbyterian College, Saturday night at Eagle Field.

Game Recap
  • Blue Hose struck early as Morgan Dance found the back of the net in the 5th minute
  • Iragi Kalala played the ball to Dance out wide in the box and Dance struck the ball that took a slight deflection off a defender's foot and redirected over the head of Jack Kilstrom and into the net
  • PC made it 2-0 in the 21st minute as Damorney Hutchison converted a penalty
  • Just before the half the Eagles got on the board as Rodrigo Ferreira's free kick from just outside the box was placed into the top right corner
  • Eagles equalized in the 50th minute as Rodrigo Ferreira's free kick from the outside left of goal was flicked on by Sam Pidgeon and Ricardo Ferreira struck a left footed shot beating the keeper with a low shot
  • In the 69th minute the Blue Hose regained the lead as Jonas Sundli-Hardig played a ball to Sandro Rabarivony running into the box and he beat Kilstrom to the lower right corner
  • In the 78th minute Rabarivony struck again as Sundli-Hardig played a pass inside the box wide as Rabarivony ran on and placed a shot into the right side of the goal
  • PC added another in the 86th as it was awarded its second penalty and Carson Griffith converted
Next Game
The Eagles will be the 3rd seed for the Big South Conference Tournament and will host 6th-seeded Presbyterian College on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. in a rematch of tonight's contest.
