Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop set numerous records with a 111-32 defeat of Paine College in the home opener Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened
First Quarter | The Eagles raced out to a 13-0 lead three minutes into the contest before the visitors could register their first points at the 6:50 mark.
Blessing Okoh accounted for nearly half of Winthrop's 13 early points. Winthrop then led 18-2 at the halfway point of the frame after a three-pointer by
Ciara Harris. The Lions tacked on three points but the Eagles scored the final 14 points of the quarter and led 32-5 after 10 minutes of play. Winthrop also held Paine scoreless for the final 4:26 of the frame.
Olivia Wagner capped off the run with a shot from deep at the buzzer.
Second Quarter | Winthrop scored the first 17 points of the second quarter to extend their lead to 49-5 at the 4:16 mark. After Paine hit two free throws a few seconds later, the Eagles scored the final 11 points of the stanza, three of them being three-pointers. Wagner again drained one from deep at the buzzer to make the score 60-7 in favor of the Eagles. Defensively, the Eagle defense didn't allow a field goal in the quarter and only two for the half. From Paine's last field goal with 4:26 left in the first quarter to the end of the half, Winthrop held Paine to no field goals for the final 14 minutes.
Third Quarter | Paine scored to start the second half, their first field goal in nearly 15 minutes. Winthrop again exploded with a huge 22-0 run and held Paine scoreless for more than five minutes, taking an 82-9 lead with 4:30 left in the quarter. Winthrop led by 77 points at 92-15 at the end of the quarter.
Fourth Quarter | Winthrop's largest lead of the quarter and the game would be 85 at 105-20 after a Harris triple on the fast break with 6:35 left in the contest. Harris would drain three three-pointers in the quarter. Okoh's triple with 6:53 remaining put Winthrop over the century mark for the first time in 10 years as the Eagles would go on to win by 79 points.

- Winthrop didn't allow a three-point field goal until the fourth quarter as the visitors finished 1-of-19 from deep
