Eagles Fall To High Point Tuesday Afternoon

Game Recap
  • High Point had a few chances over the first 30 or so minutes but nothing too threatening as Mia Vrataric
  • Eagle gained some momentum in the final 15 minutes, creating more opportunities going forward, but were unable to connect in the final third as the game went to halftime scoreless
  • High Point found the first goal of the match as Kasey Resker sent a through ball over the top of the defense as Sabba Haghgoo ran on and proceeded to finish with a shot into the right corner
  • Eagles earned a free kick from 30 yards out in the 70th minute as Adelle Pruitt's free kick just missed over the top of the bar toward the left corner
  • In the 74th minute Laura Bennet tried a half volley shot just outside the edge of the box but was just off the mark to the left
  • In the 77th minute, Jessica Gengler nearly equalized as her shot from about 20-22 yards out went over the keeper but the ball hit the bottom of the crossbar and bounced straight down as the Panthers cleared
  • In the 84th minute the Eagles were pressuring as Evyn Schokora tried a shot near the edge of the box that was blocked and Sadie Guest tried to find the right corner off the rebound but the shot sailed wide

  • Mia Vrataric made seven saves in the match and now has 15 in her last two games
  • High Point had a 17-5 advantage in shots and 8-0 in shots on goal

Eagles will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 11 when they head to Clinton, S.C. to take on Presbyterian College at 7 p.m.
