Charlotte, N.C. – The Winthrop women's lacrosse program has been picked to finish eighth in the Big South in the 2024 season, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Defending champion Mercer is predicted to win the 2024 Big South title, earning all nine of the first-place votes and 81 of the possible 100 points while High Point is projected to finish second. Furman came in third in the poll followed by Wofford in fourth. They are followed by Radford, Presbyterian, Longwood, Winthrop and Gardner-Webb.
The 2024 Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship tournament is slated for May 3-5 at the No. 1 seed. The top four teams in the final Big South standings will qualify for the conference tournament, and the champion receives the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
