SERIES HISTORY VERSUS HIGH POINT
This will be the 65^th meeting between the programs, with Winthrop leading the series 39-25 but have lost the last six matches with High Point. Winthrop's last win in the series was 3-0 on Oct. 18, 2019 in Rock Hill. The first meeting was in 1975 with High Point winning 2-1 on the way to capturing the first seven matchups in the series. The Eagles notched their first ever victory over the Panthers on Sep. 24, 1979 by a final score of 2-0 and won the re-match a month later on Nov. 15, also by a 2-0 count. The victory on Sep. 24 started a run of total Eagle dominance over High Point for the next 30 years, winning 31 of the next 33 matchups, including 26 in a row from Nov. 17, 1982 to Nov. 10, 2007. High Point finally ended their long drought against Winthrop with a 3-1 victory in High Point on Oct. 10, 2008 and since then the series has been all Panthers, with High Point winning 16 of the last 24 meetings. Last season Winthrop lost all three encounters with the Panthers, including the Big South Tournament semifinal match on the High Point campus on Nov. 19, 3-1. High Point went 23-10 (14-2 Big South Conference) in 2022, winning both the Big South regular-season and tournament and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament, falling to the USC Trojans 3-0 on Dec. 2 in the first round in Columbus, OH. High Point was picked to be the conference champion this season.
 
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS RADFORD
This will be the 75^th meeting between the programs, with the series tied at 37 and has won the last seven meetings with Radford. The first meeting was on Oct. 12, 1985, a rare doubleheader, with the Eagles taking both matches 2-0. The series has been defined by both teams going on long stretches of dominance over the other, as the Highlanders went on to win 24 of the next 31 matches from Oct. 23, 1985 to Nov. 21, 2022, taking a 24-9 lead in the series. Winthrop then went on a long run, taking the next 18 matches from Radford. The Highlanders struck back by winning 13 of the next 16 meetings from Oct. 22, 2010 to Nov. 17, 2018. But since then, it has been all Eagles, with the Eagles winning the last seven matches vs. the Highlanders, starting on Oct. 19, 2019 with a 3-1 victory at home. The Eagles won both matches from Radford last season by scores of 3-0. The second match on the road on Oct. 20 tied the series at 37. Radford went 12-16 (8-8 Big South Conference) in 2022.
 
LAST TIME OUT

• The Eagles went on the road for their conference opener, playing Gardner-Webb in their lone matchup on the week.
• After dropping the first set, Winthrop won the next three sets to pick up their first conference win of the year, their second straight win overall and their 12th straight over Gardner-Webb.
• Avery Jolley led the Eagles in kills (13), Alyah Cadavid led the Eagles in aces (two), Brookelynn Thomas led the Eagles in blocks (four), Isabella Murray led the Eagles in assists (38), and Madison Gorniak led the Eagles in digs (16).
• Four Eagles got into double figures in digs.

PROMOTIONAL NIGHT
The Eagles' matches this weekend will feature a Rally Towel Giveaway vs. High Point while the Radford match will be the Morgan's Message Mental Health Awareness Match. Morgan's Message is an organization started after former Duke University Lacrosse player Morgan Rodgers lost her battle with mental health struggles in 2019.
