Rock Hill, S.C. – Five Winthrop women's golfers were named 2022-23 Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars.
It is the 18
th straight year the Eagles have had at least one golfer earn the honor and it's the 11
th straight year with three or more selections. Winthrop has now had 58 scholars since the 2004-05 season.
Makenna Brindley,
Regan Clifford and
Valentine Savioz earned the honor for a third straight year. It was the second straight year for
Emilie Marie Marceliussen-Dahl and the first year for
Emily Baker.
To be nominated for WGCA All-American Scholar awards, student-athletes much have an overall GPA of 3.50 or higher for their entire collegiate career and have compiled 50 percent of the teams competitions for the school year to be nominated. This year there were a total of 1,401 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor out of 378 programs.
