ROCK HILL, S.C. – Queens used a late rally to tie the game in the ninth and would eventually go on to edge Winthrop in 10 innings at home by a final score of 8-7, thus earning a split of the home-and-home series with the Eagles. With the loss, the Eagles drop to 24-23 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first batter of the game, Brody Hopkins, hit a solo shot to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
- In the next inning, combined three-run RBI singles by Rameses Cordova and Hopkins extended the lead to 4-0.
- Queens got on the board in the top of the third on a two-run RBI single.
- Winthrop went up 6-2 in the bottom of the fifth when Will Martin scored on an error after Cordova singled and then Harrison Wilson came home on Nate Chronis's groundout to first base.
- The Royals cut it to 6-3 in the top of the sixth on a sac fly.
- But Winthrop regained their four-run edge on their second home run of the night, a solo blast by Jonathan Strauss in the Eagle half of the sixth.
- The Royals cut the lead in half in the seventh on an RBI double and a single on the next play.
- Queens then tied the game at 7-7 in the ninth when the Eagles walked in a run with the bases loaded with no one out and a sac fly.
- The game would go to extra innings after Winthrop failed to score in their half of the ninth.
- The visitors hit a home run in the top of the 10th to give them the lead for good.
