WINTHROP AT A GLANCE

SCOUTING FURMAN
Furman is currently 5-5 and 2-1 in the Big South, having defeated Stonehill, Old Dominion, Kennesaw State in overtime, Longwood, and last night defeated Big South opponent High Point for the first time. In the Big South the Paladins other conference win was against Longwood. Furman is led by Kirkland Lewis, who is in her second year with the program and the second coach in their program's history. Furman was picked to finish fourth in the 2023 Big South Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll with 67 of the 100 possible points. The Paladins finished the 2022 campaign with an 8-8 overall record and 7-2 in the Big South in their first year in the conference, finishing in a tie for third. Furman went to the semifinals of the conference tournament after defeating Winthrop in the first round.
ALL-TIME AGAINST FURMAN
Furman leads the series, 3-1, including 2-0 in Greenville. The first meeting between the Eagles and Paladins was on Feb. 21, 2016 with Winthrop notching a 15-5 win at home. Since then the Eagles have dropped the last three meetings, including both contests last year. The last outing between the two teams was a 16-13 Furman victory in Greenville in the first round of the Big South Tournament on Apr. 30.
