ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the second straight day, Winthrop came from behind to defeat UNC Asheville at home by a final score of 5-4 on a walk-off single by Ramses Cordova, sweeping the series from the Bulldogs. The Eagles move to 20-21 overall and 9-9 in Big South play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bulldogs went up 3-0 in the top of the third on an error, a walk with the bases loaded and a fielder's choice.
• The Eagles responded on Brody Hopkins's two-run dinger in their half of the inning.
• Winthrop then tied it in the bottom of the fifth on McKinley Erves's sac fly, scoring Nate Chronis.
• UNC Asheville took a 4-3 lead in the seventh on an error.
• But Winthrop tied the game again in the bottom of the eighth when Nicholas Badillo doubled to bring in Charlie Evans.
• With the bases loaded Ramses Cordova singled to center field to score Jonathan Strauss and give the Eagles the win.
