SCOUTING HIGH POINT
High Point is currently 1-6 with the lone win coming vs. Mount St. Mary's. The Panthers are coming off a 22-4 road loss to third-ranked and defending national champion North Carolina. High Point is led by Lyndsey Boswell, who is in her 13
th year with the program and is the only coach in their program's history. High Point was also picked to finish second in the 2023 Big South Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll with one first place vote and 89 total votes. High Point finished the 2022 campaign with a 10-9 overall record but 8-1 in the Big South, where they lost in the conference tournament championship game to Mercer.
ALL-TIME AGAINST HIGH POINT
High Point leads the series, 12-3 and has never lost to the Eagles in the Furniture Capital of the World, going 7-0. The teams met for the first time on Apr. 5, 2013 with the Panthers winning 21-5 in Rock Hill. After dropping the first four meetings, Winthrop won the next three matchups but has since lost the last eight to the Panthers. The last meeting took place on Apr. 6, 2022 with High Point winning 23-2 in Rock Hill. Winthrop is seeking their first victory in the series since a 10-7 win at home on May 7, 2016. That win was also the last time Winthrop won the Big South Tournament.
