Eastern Michigan, also called the Eagles, is 0-1 with a loss to Niagara at home by a final score of 18-4. The first-year program will be the seventh Mid-American Conference institution to sponsor the sport at the NCAA Division I level. Others in the MAC include Akron, Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Kent State, Robert Morris, and Youngstown State. EMU is led by Sara Tisdale. EMU was picked to finish sixth in the MAC's Preseason Poll in 2023, garnering 13 points.
