BUIES CREEK, N.C. –Winthrop was swept by Campbell on the road in the final ever Big South contest with the Camels by a final score of 9-1. With the loss, Winthrop drops to 9-12 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Campbell led 3-0 after the second inning via two home runs: a two-run dinger in the first and a solo in the second.
• Campbell tacked on another run in the bottom of third on a wild pitch, taking a 4-0 lead.
• With the bases loaded in the next inning, a Camel batter was hit by a pitch to make it 5-0.
• Two more solo shots in the fifth put Campbell up 7-0.
• Campbell hit their second two-run homer of the game in the sixth to extend their lead to 9-0.
• Winthrop ended the shutout in the top of the ninth inning when Brody Hopkins got Luke Hannum to come home on a fielder's choice.
