WINTHROP AT A GLANCE
- In the most recent game, a 21-1 loss to Clemson at home on Feb. 18, Scarlet Cifarelli scored Winthrop's lone goal with 45 seconds left. By scoring, Winthrop still has never been shut out as a program dating back to their debut season in 2013. As a result of her strong play in the Clemson and the opening game at home vs. Kennesaw State on Feb. 15, Cifarelli was named the Big South Rookie of the Week.

- Angelo and Dankowski return as Winthrop's top-three offensive pieces, as Angelo is the Eagles' leading returning goal scorer with 47 goals during her junior year, and Dankowski led the 2022 squad in shots with 58 attempts in 18 games played.
- McKenzie played in 16 games last season, registering 10 goals and two assists on 24 shots on goal while Diebert played in 18 games, tacking an assist and 13 groundballs.
- The Eagles were ranked fifth in the Big South preseason poll and are in their second season under head coach Kara Concheck.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
The Wildcats are 3-1 with victories over High Point, Coastal Carolina and Mercer and the sole loss being to Duke. The Wildcats are coached by Kim Wayne, who has been there since 2008. Last season Davidson reached the Atlantic 10 tournament semifinal game and by beating Duquesne in the quarterfinals, the Wildcats had their most victories in a season with 13. Davidson was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10's Preseason Poll in 2023, garnering 72 points and one first-place vote.
ALL-TIME AGAINST DAVIDSON
This is the eighth meeting between the Eagles and Wildcats with Davidson leading the series, 5-2. The first meeting between the two teams was on April 21, 2013 with Davidson winning 11-5 in Rock Hill. Winthrop fell to 0-2 in the series the next year but then won the next two games in 2016 and 2017 to tie the series. However, the Wildcats responded by winning the last three in 2018, 2019 and 2022. The 2022 edition took place in Charlotte as Winthrop fell 20-9.
