ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop snapped a two-game losing streak and tied the three-game series with Liberty by a final score of 5-3 Saturday afternoon at home. Winthrop moves to 4-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Liberty took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning on a sac fly and a wild pitch.
• The Eagles struck back in their half of the fourth when Ty Hooks singled to score Joseph Svetitz and Brody Hopkins, knotting the contest at two.
• The Flames went up 3-2 in the next inning on another sac fly.
• Ricky Teel tripled to score Will Martin and Luke Hannum to put Winthrop in the lead for the first time, 4-3.
• The Eagles extended the lead to 5-3 when Nate Chronis made it to third on an error but got Teel to safely come home.
