WHAT HAPPENED
  • Marist took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second as Haley Ahr scored on a throwing error to first as Kaitlyn Tucker was trying to make a throw to first deep in the hole at short
  • The ball got away just enough for Ahr to cross the plate
  • In the bottom of the third inning, Alexis Snyder reached on a leadoff single
  • Chloe Baker laid down a sacrifice to move Snyder to third but an errant throw to first put runners at the corners
  • Paige Rivas walked to load the bases and then on the first pitch KaDedra Temple smashed the ball over the fence in center for a grand slam and a 4-1 lead
  • Eagles added to their lead with an RBI single to right by Tucker
  • Macy McCall singled to lead off, stole second to get into scoring position and Tucker came through
  • Marist cut the Winthrop lead to two runs in the top of the sixth on an RBI double from Haley Ahr and a fielder's choice RBI by Kaitlyn Husic
  • Marist threatened in the top of the seventh after a single and a double put runners at second and third with one out
  • Reese Basinger came in to finish it off for her first save of the season with a strikeout and ground out
  • Sydney Boulware earned the win in the circle allowing two earned runs on nine hits with a walk and seven strikeouts in 6.1 innings pitched as she improves to 3-0
