Winthrop To Play Georgia State At Rock Hill Sports And Events Center Thursday Evening

Rock Hill, S.C. – Coming off a 77-52 win at home vs. Carolina University that snapped a two-game losing streak, Winthrop women's basketball (5-5, 0-0 Big South) takes on Georgia State on Thursday evening at the Rock Hill Sports and Events Center.

SERIES HISTORY VERSUS GEORGIA STATE
This is the eighth meeting between the Eagles and the Panthers, with Georgia State leading the series 6-1 and have won the last two matchups. The first meeting was on Nov. 24, 1989 with the Panthers winning 76-61 on the way to winning the first four meetings. Winthrop's lone win in the series came at home on Dec. 17, 2007, a 67-57 decision. The most recent meeting was in Atlanta, GA last season on Nov. 21, 2022 with the Panthers winning 68-45. Georgia State went 12-21 (5-13 Sun Belt) in 2022-23.
