Game Recap
  • High Point took advantage of a mistake by the Eagles in the 9th minute on a pass near the edge of the 18 as Jefferson Amaya intercepted the pass and then fired a shot from 20 yards out through traffic and into the lower right corner
  • Panthers struck again in the 12th minute, taking advantage of another bad pass by the Eagles in their defensive third
  • Seth Antwi won the ball, slipped a pass to Noah Holmes who was 1v1 with Jack Kilstorm who made the save but the rebound popped out directly to Brendan Krueger
  • Krueger took a touch, but Rafael Bellucci Marin tackled the ball away only for it to end up at the feet of Tony Pineda at the top of the 18 and he laced a shot past Kilstrom, who was trying to recover
  • In the 16th minute the Eagles looked as if they had cut the deficit in half as Grayson Woodard played a ball on the ground to the back post as Joe McGee tried to slide and redirect the cross
  • The ball slipped past him but Ricardo Ferreirra was there to place a shot into the net but the ball just clipped McGee as he was lying in an offside position as it went into the goal but was waved off
  • In the 36th minute as Kade McKenzie chipped a ball over the defense into the box and Stefan Sildor ran on as he had a clean look at an angle but Josh Caron made the save, pushing it wide for an Eagle corner
  • High Point went ahead 3-0 in the 56th minute when Beau Yantz's cross in front of goal found Pineda at the six for his second of the game
  • One of the best scoring opportunities for the Eagles in the second half came in the 57th minute as Nick Guido dribbled into the box with speed and fired a shot to the lower left corner but Caron was down quick for the save
