- In the 9th minute Bryan Marshall put a header off a corner on frame but not enough steam as Charlie Farrar collected it for a save

- Eagles opened up the second half creating a number of scoring chances and another in the 53rd nearly resulted in the first goal as Guido received a pass in the box and fired a shot toward the right corner that was just tipped wide of the post by Farrar

- The game couldn't be decided over 90 minutes to the teams headed to overtime
- In the first overtime Guido dribbled down the middle of the field and as he approached the 18 he fired a low shot to the left corner but Farrar was down to make the save
- The Eagles created some scoring opportunities in the second overtime but it was Asheville that found the back of the net late to steal the win
- The goal came less than a minute after Ricard Ferreira had a good look from 20 yards out but fired the shot right at the keeper
- Farrar then played it pretty quickly and punted the ball wide right as Aysa Hamid settled the ball, then beat a Winthrop defender off the ball and served the ball in front of goal as Kilstrom leaped and couldn't secure the ball as it bounced in front of goal and Grolimund collected and then fired a shot into the lower right corner from just outside the six
