Game Recap
- In the 22nd minute Charleston Southern's Sydney Thomas hit a shot toward the top right corner that was saved by Izzy Giarrizzi to keep the game scoreless
- Winthrop was on the board first in the 38th minute when Annabel Thomas dribbled down the left side, beat the defender and crossed the ball in front of goal
- Erika Brown received the pass, took a touch and then slipped a shot past the keeper from about six yards out
- The Buccaneers tied the match before the half as Kyia Tucker took a bouncing ball inside the box and hit a shot off the crossbar
- The rebound came right in front where Abby Angelucci was waiting and she placed a shot into the open net
- Both teams were able to get possession going forward in the second half but neither was able to make a final connection for a goal
- The best chance came in the 88th minute as Fiama Hidalgo's header in front of goal looked to be heading to the lower right corner when Giarrizzi reacted quickly with a diving save to keep it locked at 1-1
Notables
- The Bucs had a 16-7 advantage in shots and 7-5 in shots on goal
- Giarrizzi finished the game with six saves
- This is the second straight meeting with the Bucs that ended in a draw
