Rock Hill, S.C. – Constanca Mendonca has been tabbed the Big South Conference Women's Golf Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office on Friday.
Mendonca finished runner-up at the Terrier Intercollegiate (par 72, 6,056 yards) with a 1-under 215 (66-70-79). Her first round 6-under 66 established a program record, and she broke the school 36-hole mark by four strokes (-8). Mendonca missed the program 54-hole record by one stroke, led the field in par 3 scoring (-3), and tied for the most birdies with 13.
This is the second time this fall season that Mendonca has earned the league's weekly honor for freshman.
