Game Recap
- The Bulldogs opened the scoring with an early goal in the 6th minute
- Asheville earned a corner kick and the service by Azalea Mihailovich curled to the near post as an Asheville player moved out of the way and the ball skipped into the goal
- In the 39th minute the Eagles created a good opportunity as Laura Bennett was set up near the top of the box, cut back behind a defender and shoulder to shoulder she slid to try and slip a shot by the keeper but Grace Murray closed in and smothered the shot for the save
- The Bulldogs doubled their lead before the half as Daysha Chaney scored in the 43rd minute
- Nao Kawasaki played a ball wide to the right to Jasmine Barry and her cross found Chaney wide open just inside the six as she placed a shot into the net
- In the 52nd minute Asheville served a ball to the back post as Barrett Eidson was open and struck a full volley on frame to the lower corner but Izzy Giarrizzi got down quickly and held on to the shot for the save
- Kaiya Boyd made it 3-0 in the 64th minute as she dribbled down the middle of the field and fired a shot around a defender and into the lower left corner and then the Bulldogs added its fourth in the 65th minute

Looking Ahead
Winthrop returns home on Saturday, Oct. 21 to take on Longwood at 1 p.m. It is "Senior Day" as the senior class will be recognized in a pregame ceremony.
