Game Recap
- PC had a flurry of shots in the 36th minute as the Eagle defenders were able to block the first two and then Vicente Villazon Rettig made a diving save off a shot from Victor Faaborg Christensen
- In the 40th minute, the Eagles applied pressure as Nick Guido and Stefan Sildor battled a PC player for the ball just outside the 18
- Sildor ended up with the ball at his feet, turned and found Kade McKenzie running down the middle as he played him the ball and McKenzie tucked a shot into the lower left corner for the lead
- The Blue Hose drew level in the 55th minute on a gift by the Eagles when Rettig was moving toward a high bouncing ball in the box and collided with a Winthrop defender, leaving the ball at the feet of Faaborg Christensen who placed a shot into the open goal
- In the 61st minute the Eagles were awarded a free kick straight on from goal about 25 yards out as Rodrigo Ferreira nearly made it pay off as he laced a free kick to the lower right corner but the ball was tipped wide by a diving James Dee
- The Eagles took the lead in the 85th minute as Emory Crichlow played a ball wide to Grayson Woodard
- Woodard dribbled toward goal, played a pass to Guido who dribbled into the box and a little wide until he slipped a shot into the lower left corner past the keeper
Notables
- Eagles remain unbeaten in conference play and with the win remain in second place in the Big South Conference standings
- This is the first season since 2015 the Eagles were unbeaten through five league contests
- It is also just the 7th time in program history
- PC had a 13-8 advantage in total shots while holding a 6-4 edge in shots on goal
- Each team finished with three corners
