Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop's home conference winning streak came to an end at 10 straight as it fell 66-52 to Radford, Wednesday evening at the Winthrop Coliseum.

FIRST HALF
- Despite turning the ball over on its first two possessions the Highlanders led 4-0 early after back-to-back baskets by DaQuan Smith
- Eagles scored five straight as Kelton Talford scored inside on a reverse layup and then a corner three by Toneari Lane pushed the Eagles to a 5-4 advantage
- Smith answered for Radford by draining a straight away three to regain the lead at 7-5
- Eagles were able to battle back to take the lead at 10-9 with 12:50 to play in the half after a three-point play by Talford
- The teams traded leads over the next few minutes until a tip-in by Talford and a layup by Michael Moore put the Eagles on top 19-15
- The game remained tight all the way to the half as the score was 31-31 after 20 minutes
- Over the final eight minutes there were five lead changes
SECOND HALF
- Radford opened the second half scoring with an off balance three from Bryan Antoine, but it was matched by a straight away triple from Kasen Harrison
- The Highlanders used a 4-0 spurt to lead by five at 40-35 with 16:40 remaining
- Eagles trailed 45-40 with 13:58 to play when the Highlanders used an 8-0 run to open up a 13-point advantage
- The run started with a three from Kenyon Giles and he capped off the run with two free throws
- Back-to-back threes by Winthrop's Cory Hightower and Sin'Cere McMahon pulled the Eagles within seven points at 55-48 with 5:53 to play
- It was a seven point game with 3:30 remaining after a Chase Claxton layup, but the Highlanders outscored the Eagles 7-2 the rest of the way to hold off the Eagles
- Eagles were just 6-of-16 from the floor in the second half while Radford shot 48 percent
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Winthrop shot 37 percent from the floor and was just 7-for-26 behind the arc
- Radford finished the game shooting 50 percent and was 7-of-16 from three
- Winthrop had a 15-14 edge in second chance points, but Radford scored all 14 in the second half
- The Eagles had 13 turnovers that led to 13 points for Radford and the Eagles managed eight points off 12 Radford miscues
- Highlanders won the rebounding battle with a 34-28 advantage

- Talford was the lone Eagle in double-figures as he has now scored 10 or more points in all 17 games he's played this season
- Winthrop's home conference winning streak comes to an end at 10 in a row and ends the streak of wins over league opponents at 13
- McMahon hit two threes and now has 96 in his career as he's knocked down a triple in all 18 games this season
- Harrison had three assists in the game and now has 200 in his career
