Buies Creek, N.C. – Sin'Cere McMahon scored 19 of his game-high 23 points in the second half in a comeback win as Winthrop defeated Campbell 78-74, Saturday afternoon at Gore Arena.

FIRST HALF
- Game was tied 2-2 after Sin'Cere McMahon scored in the paint
- Campbell then went on a 9-0 run over the next three minutes to lead 11-2 with 14:37 left
- Ricky Clemons scored the first seven points of the run with back-to-back baskets in the paint and then knocked down a three
- Camels pushed their lead to double-digits at 16-6 with 12:12 left after a three from Juan Reyna
- Kasen Harrison matched the three on the ensuing possessionto make it a seven point game
- Campbell pushed is lead back to double-digits and as many as 1 at 21-10 after a steal by Gediminas Mokseckas as he finished on the other end
- Eagles worked their way back to a two possession game at 30-25 after a drive and score from Harrison and a Chase Claxton bucket at the rim off a feed from McMahon
- With 1:55 left in the half Toneari Lane knocked down a three to pull the Eagles within four
- Joashua Lusane answered with a three for Campbell, only to be matched by another three from Lane
- Clemons made 1-of-2 free throws with three seconds left to give Campbell a 38-33 lead at the half
SECOND HALF
- Lusane made a jumper 26 seconds in the half to put the Camels up seven
- The lead grew to nine points after Anthony Dell'orso converted two free throws at the 18:08 mark
- Eagles came right down and Claxton connected with an open McMahon who drained a three
- Campbell scored to go back up eight, but Kelton Talford converted a three-point play to cut the deficit to five points
- Winthrop forced a turnover on the following possession as Cory Hightower came away with the steal which eventually led to another three from McMahon to make it two point game with 16:29 to play
- The Camels stopped the 6-0 spurt with as Laurynas Vaistaras finished with a slam
- McMahon came right back with this third three in a three minute span to make it a one point game at 46-45
- The Eagles grabbed their first lead at 14:28 when Harrison connected with Lane for a three and a 48-46 advantage
- The teams traded baskets over the next five and a half minutes with it remaining a one possession game during that span
- Leading 57-56, Claxton gave the Eagles a three-point lead with a stick back and was fouled
- Claxton converted the free throw for a 60-56 lead
- After getting a defensive stop, Lane scored at the rim on the other end for Winthrop's largest lead of the game at 62-57
- The game was tied 62-62 with 5:18 to play when Lane knocked down another triple
- Winthrop extended its lead to 70-64 with 2:49 to play after Harrison hit his second three of the game
- The Eagles were able to hold off the Camels the rest of the win to get the win

- The Eagles finished the game shooting 60 percent from the floor after shooting 64 percent in the second half
- Campbell shot 52 percent from the floor and was 7-of-22 from three
- Winthrop connected on 11 threes in the game (11-for-24) and was 17-of-21 at the foul line
- Both teams had 14 turnovers as the Eagles finished with a 16-11 advantage in points off turnovers
- The battle on the glass went to Campbell with a 26-20 edge and the Camels had a 14-3 advantage in second chance points
- McMahon led all scores with 23 points as he was 1-of-4 Eagles in double-figures
- Lane chipped in with 16 points off the bench, Harrison had 14 points and Talford finished with 12
- Winthrop started the game 3-for-11 from the floor and then finished 22-for-31 the rest of the way (the final 27:22 of the game)

- Winthrop snagged its first road win of the season and the eighth straight win over Campbell
- Eagles have now won 15 of the last 20 road games in conference play
- McMahon posted his sixth career 20-point game and fifth of the season
- McMahon also connected on four threes and now has 100 in his career
- Lane also connected on four threes, his 10th game of the year with three or more
