Game Recap
- Furman grabbed the early lead with a goal in the 2nd minute thanks to a giveaway by the Eagles in the back
- Following a free kick to the back post, Jayden Mace headed the ball away and chased it down before it went over the line for a corner
- When Mace turned up field, Dylan Lane stepped up and won the ball and immediately served it in front of goal
- Alfredo Diaz-Santillan ran on to the cross unmarked and struck a volley first time past a diving Dean DePinto from the spot
- The Eagles were able to get the ball forward and into the final third but couldn't connect with anything on frame
- The best opportunity came in the 21st minute when Nick Guido worked his way free at the top of the box and fired a shot toward the left corner but Furman had 3 defenders in the way to block the shot.
- Furman took a 2-0 lead in the 25th minute when Diaz-Santillan received a ball into space
- Diaz-Santillan dribbled toward the box and as he crossed into the area he let a low shot go that was right at DePinto but was misplayed when trying to catch the shot and it rolled into the net
- Diaz-Santillan completed a hat trick 24 seconds later as Furman won the ball on a tackle outside the box
- Diaz-Santillan chased the ball down and from a tough angle beat DePinto into the lower far corner for a 3-0 lead
- Eagles nearly found the back of the net in the 33rd minute as Bryant Jimenez-Pearce corner found Grayson Woodard at the near post and he hit a shot first time on frame that Ben Roberts turned away
- Woodard headed the rebound back across goal but a Furman defender headed it out for another corner
- Woodard tried again in the 36th minute as he dribbled through traffic and turned toward the middle of the field as he fired a shot from just outside the box that had pace on it but right at Roberts
- In the 48th minute Guido earned a corner for the Eagles and off the service redirected the ball on frame twice but it was deflected and then cleared off the line by a Furman defender
- Eagles drew a free kick in the 54th minute when Woodard chased down a through ball and beat Roberts to the ball outside the 18 and was taken down on a tackle by Roberts
- Jimenez-Pearce tried to a curl a shot into the left corner but Robert was there to make the save and keep the Eagles off the board

- Winthrop had a 7-6 edge in shots while Furman had a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal
- The Eagles had an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks
- Joe McGee and Rafael Bellucci Marin each made their first collegiate starts
