Game Recap
- Eagles gave up a goal 56 seconds into the game as Kolby Carr won the ball and set up Kameron Lacey for the goal
- In the 42nd minute, Sean Green put a shot on frame but right at keeper Thomas Wallis
- The 49ers doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 60th minute as Lacey set up Matthew Kirk
- In the 74th minute Charlotte added to its lead as Samy Kolby's shot found the lower left corner for the goal
- This came after the Eagles had two opportunities as Grayson Woodard's shot to the lower right corner was saved by Wallis in the 69th minute
- Then in the 72nd minute Christopher Cushing's shot to the corner was saved by Wallis
- Charlotte added a fourth in the 82nd minute when it was awarded a penalty as Sean Suber stepped in and placed a shot into the upper left corner
Notables
- 49ers held a 20-9 advantage in shots and 7-3 in corners
- Sam Bell finished with four saves in the match
- This was the first time the Eagles were shutout this season

Winthrop concludes its six-game road trip to start the season on Saturday, Sept. 17 when it heads to Greensboro, N.C. to take on nationally-ranked UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m.
