ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Winthrop baseball program fell to Campbell in game two of the series Saturday evening.
 
The Eagles are 13-31 (7-10 Big South) overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Camels used an RBI single in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead
• Campbell homered in the top of the second for a 2-0 lead
• Winthrop got their first baserunner in the fourth as Szvetitz singled to left field
• A two-run homer from the visitors extended the lead to 4-0 in the fifth
• Miller's single drove in a run in the bottom of the frame to cut the lead to 4-1
• Two runs came in on a squeeze bunt in the sixth, giving the Camels a 6-1 advantage
• A double from Fewell brought in the Eagles' second run of the night before an error by the visitors got Winthrop within 6-3
• An RBI single from Strauss brought home yet another run to slice the lead to two
• Campbell used an RBI single to take a 7-4 lead in the eighth
• Two Eagle errors led to an insurance run for the Camels
• Miller's three-run homer in the ninth cut the lead to a single run at 8-7, but three outs across the next five batters ended the contest
