CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Winthrop baseball program had two players named to the 2022 Big South all-conference teams, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. Dillon Morton and Khyree Miller were honored while Jonathan Strauss was named to the all-academic team.

Morton earned second team all-conference honors after a season that saw him play in 49 games with 47 starts. He led the Eagles in batting average (.299), home runs (14), RBI (45), and walks (27). His home run total tied for fourth in the Big South while he was tied for seventh in RBI. His 52 hits and 29 runs scored were also top-three marks for Winthrop.

Miller was named honorable mention all-conference after a meteoric close to the season as he raised his batting average sixty (60) points during May. He played in 46 games with 42 starts and finished with a .254 batting average while ranking second on the team in home runs (11) and walks (25) and third in RBI (27). 

Strauss was named to the all-academic team after playing in 29 games with 22 starts, finishing with a .238 batting average while hitting four doubles and two home runs and accruing 30 RBI. He graduated from Winthrop in the spring of 2022 with a degree in political science and finished his undergraduate career with a 3.94 GPA.
