Baseball Drops Game Two To UNC Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Winthrop baseball program fell to UNC Asheville Friday afternoon.
 
The Eagles are 18-33 (11-12 Big South) overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Asheville took an early lead with an RBI double in the first
  • The Bulldogs doubled their lead in the third on an RBI groundout
  • Winthrop got runners to second and third in the fourth, but a fielder's choice ended the threat
  • Asheville had the bases loaded in the bottom of the frame before a double play ended their half
  • In the sixth, the Bulldogs tacked on four more runs with two RBI singles and a two RBI double
  • The Eagles were unable to get anything going in the last three innings to complete the contest
