ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Winthrop baseball program defeated North Carolina A&T on Sunday, sweeping the Aggies in the process.
 
The Eagles are 17-32 (10-11 Big South) overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• A&T got on the board first with a solo homer in the second
• Jack Spyke's RBI single in the bottom of the frame tied the game as he scored Ethan Fewell
• The Aggies homered again in the third for a 2-1 lead
• Another RBI from the visitors in the fifth extended their lead to 3-1
• In the bottom of the inning, Winthrop got hot as CJ Conrad singled home Taul, Szvetitz singled home Conrad, and Morton homered to bring in two more
• A&T used an RBI single in the eighth to draw within a run, but Lumpkin shut the door and closed out the game
