CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Winthrop baseball program defeated The Citadel on the road Tuesday night.
The Eagles are 14-32 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Citadel used an RBI single to take an early 1-0 lead
- The Bulldogs tacked on two more runs in the third as they singled home two more runs
- In the top of the fourth, Miller homered to cut the lead to one
- The Citadel responded with a run-scoring double and a run-scoring single for a 5-2 lead
- An RBI single in the bottom of the sixth got the lead to four runs
- Fewell and Miller hit two-run home runs in the eighth to tie the game and eventually send it into extras
- In the 11th, Robby Taul and CJ Conrad hit RBI singles to give the Eagles a 9-6 lead
- Lumpkin allowed two baserunners, but a groundout ended the threat and gave him his first save of the year

Winthrop takes on North Carolina A&T in their last home series of the year. First pitch is slated for Friday, May 13 at 5 p.m.
