The Eagles are 13-23 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Davidson hit a two-run homer in the second inning for an early lead
• A solo homer in the third increased their lead to three runs
• An RBI groundout in the bottom of the third sliced the lead to 3-1
• A bases-loaded walk from Dillon Morton and a Robby Taul score on a passed ball tied the game at three
• The Wildcats hit an RBI single in the fifth to re-take the lead
• In the top of the seventh, a three-run homer from the visitors broke open the game
• The Eagles had runners on the corners in the bottom of the frame, but a strikeout and a groundout ended the threat
• Davidson pushed across two insurance runs in the eighth for a six-run lead
• Six runs in the ninth gave the Wildcats a double-digit lead
• Winthrop scratched across two runs in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice fly and an RBI double
