Winthrop entered 2022 predicted to finish sixth in the Big South Conference, receiving one first place vote. The Eagles finished the 2021 season with a 19-27 (16-21 Big South) record.
Wofford was picked to win the Southern Conference. The Terriers finished 2021 with a 36-21 (21-9 SoCon) record.
