Eagles Drop Game Two To High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Winthrop baseball program fell on the road in a low-scoring affair against High Point Saturday night.

How it Happened
  • In the bottom of the first inning, High Point was able to push a run across to make the score 1-0.
  • In the top of the second, the Eagles got two baserunners on, but were unable to drive in any runs
  • In the bottom of the second, the Panthers were able to put two runners in scoring position, but the Eagles were able to get out of the inning without any runs scoring
  • In the top of the third, Ty Hooks was able to double to left center but the Eagles were unable to score
  • In the bottom of the third, High Point scored two runs on a home run to left field to make the score 3-0
  • Joey Tepper would go onto hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fourth, closing the gap to 3-1
  • In the top of the fifth, the Eagles were able to move another runner across on a Joseph Szvetitz groundout to make the score 3-2
  • Parker Whittle came out of the bullpen in the bottom of the 6th and did not let the Panthers score through three innings with six strikeouts, but the Eagles were unable to push any more runs across
